What is Herpes Infection?
Viral Warts are usually viral infection of the skin which are caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). They are more than 100 subtypes of HPV.
Viral Warts mostly happen in children and young adults. Although it can happen at any age.
What causes Viral Warts?
The causes of Viral Warts include:
• Viral Warts may be transferred between people by skin-to-skin contact or from the environment (decks of swimming pool).
• They can transmitted from one area of the body to another within the same infected individual. It may take one to six months for warts to occur after initial infection.
How is Viral Warts treated?
In children (watchful waiting), warts may sort out spontaneously. However, this may take up to two years to happen.
• Retinoids or imiquimod: They are useful for flat warts.
• Duofilm or verrumal: These may be more effective when used with occlusion with duct tape.
• Cryotherapy
• Electrosurgery and lasers: Used in children rarely as they can cause pain.
