What is Balanitis?
Balanitis is an inflammation and pain of the glans penis (head of the penis).
Inflammatory condition involves the foreskin, or prepuce, which is called as balanoposthitis. Mostly urologic clinic visits are due to balanitis, which may be occurred by infection, trauma, irritation to the glans penis, and allergic dermatitis. Balanitis which aren’t treated can have a wide range of complications, such as urethral stenosis, phimosis, and malignancy.

There are various causes of balanitis which can be classified as infectious versus non-infectious aetiologies.
